Bryan McMillan: Why Disruptive Innovation?

Disruptive innovation, as the proven leader and executive consultant Bryan McMillan knows, is the process whereby new ideas, products or services upend the status quo, replacing those long-established by the competition with transformative, “disruptive” elements of change, and creating new, successful entrepreneurs along the way.

Bryan McMillan believes in the idea of disruptive innovation as a way not just to bring a new idea or product to market, but to elevate one’s business to an entirely new level of achievement and success. Embracing the power of such change can:

--Provide a company the opportunity to expand its own market with new ideas, products, and services.
--Create a sense of urgency within one’s organization that leads to internal improvement and heightened efficiency.
--Serve as an ever-powerful source of opportunity for the business by providing a dynamic platform for ongoing growth and potential.
--Nurture an environment of learning within a company, one that always welcomes rather than fears change.

Bryan McMillan has been a leader throughout his career, particularly as a longtime member of the medical devices industry. Savvy, insightful and innovative, Bryan McMillan knows what organization’s need to reach the next level.

Bryan McMillan: A Brief Bio of DJO Global

Bryan McMillan is proud to be a part of the DJO Global leadership team and to bring years of experience and expertise in medical devices and executive leadership to the table on a daily basis.

The DJO President of Regeneration and Reimbursement since early 2017, Bryan McMillan enjoys the opportunity to work within one of the largest orthopedic rehabilitation products firms in the world, one which currently carries more than 1000 different, high-quality medical devices that help physicians and patients through everything from injury prevention to complete rehabilitation.

As Bryan McMillan knows, DJO Global was founded in Carlsbad, California in 1978, just at the time that the modern era of sports medicine was still in its infancy. DJO, then known as Donjoy, experienced considerable growth over the next 20 years, and as the result of several acquisitions and transactions over that time, would become DJ Orthopedics in 1999.

DJO experienced unprecedented growth during the 2000s, and following its purchase by the Blackstone Group, and a later merger with a Blackstone-owned company (Reable Therapeutics), the company would become an operation with truly global reach.
